Greetings and warm regards. When the going gets tough, the tough get going! That’s why our parish is so special. We support one another when challenges arise.
With the excitement for online ordering of Philoptochos Bake Sales underway, our orders are coming in strong. Our first battalion of co-workers just prepared the special spinach and cheese mixture for the rolling of spanakopites this Saturday. With a goal of 250 dozen in anticipated sales, our prep team realized rolling will be a two-day task! To accommodate this demand, we just scheduled a full second day of rolling tomorrow, Friday, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
During GreekFest, I was impressed that George Psihountas asked us to consider using a vacation day from work to volunteer for Friday’s set-up. Borrowing a page from his playbook, I am asking if any of us who can take a vacation day please donate it so you can join us tomorrow, even if you are already planning to be with us Saturday. I am using a vacation day tomorrow to be with everyone, and plan to be with the team all day Saturday.
250 dozen is 3,000 spanakopites! Will you give a few hours on either Friday or Saturday, or if possible, both days. You will not be pressured to stay longer than you can, so no worries. Plus, we have lunch donated on Friday!
No need to RSVP… just show up tomorrow and Saturday. While we have a good turnout planned for Saturday, with Friday now open, we are shouting this message out literally at the last minute… not as an emergency, but as an opportunity to share and join us and have fun!
Thank you for your support and know we are deeply appreciative.
