We welcome a family preparing the five loaves for this month so we can offer our monthly "Parish Thanksgiving Sunday" event for February and March commemorations.
During our Lenten Wednesdays that begin March 5th, we will offer the 9th Hour Service at 8:00 a.m., followed by the Presanctified Liturgy at 8:20 a.m., with the aim of finishing close to 9:30 a.m. for those who need to depart for work. Fr. George is offering a "Lenten Study Series" for those who are retired, work at home and can take a break, or homeschool. Catechumens and others interested in Orthodoxy are encouraged to attend. Participants may offer lenten foods to share during our "Lenten Study Series."
On the first four Fridays of Great Lent, according to the current Constantinopolitan practice, we chant the Service of the Salutations to the Theotokos at Small Compline. In the evening, we read Small Compline through the Creed, and then on the Fifth Friday, we chant the Canon of the Akathist in its entirety.
