The Cutting of the Vasilopita...

Fr. George & Parishioners extend their prayers and best wishes for a healthy, happy, and Spirit-Filled 2019! On January 1st, every one present received a special portion of the "Bread of St. Basil". There were three "golden" recipients who received the first surprise blessings of the new year...

Kirk received the "gold coin of St. Basil", Maria received the "gold coin of St. Christopher" (new this year with our Vasilopita celebration), and Dedee received the "third golden blessing" when she learned she was selected as our 2019 Parish Archangel Michael recipient when Fr. George asked her to accept the piece of Vasilopita designated for St. Christopher.

AXIA to Dedee and congratulations to her, Maria, and Kirk. In the words of our beloved Jeanie (Alexandra), everyone is a "winner at St. Christopher's"... as you can see in the first photo above. Indeed, we all are blessed to serve in our Lord's Holy Vineyard. Those present each accepted their portion of Vasilopita in behalf of the many ministries of our parish. Join us this Sunday as we continue our celebration of the annual Philoptochos Vasilopita Luncheon benefitting the St. Basil's Academy.
