Fr. George commends our parishioners for attending Sunday's Mother's Day Divine Liturgy and Luncheon in honor of our mothers. Special thanks to Bill Wiley, Luncheon Chair and all those who donated food and drinks, helped set up and clean up, and everyone who stayed to share fellowship and great food.
Mothers were presented with a special gift from Fr. George along with roses and chocolates from the Parish Council. We thank Presbytera Marinda for making the five loaves used in the Artoklasia Service which were served as bread for our luncheon. What a blessing to share our April and May special commemorations on Mother's Day Sunday with the Blessing of the Five Loaves.
May the memory of our mothers who have fallen asleep in the Lord be eternal. Fr. George and Isabelle thank the parish family for their gifts and birthday cake. Thank you again, everyone.
We praise and thank our Risen Lord for blessing us so richly on Sunday, May 12th. We congratulate the following parishioners for their special birthdays, anniversaries, and Name Days during April and May:
Mother’s Day Luncheon
Everyone was invited to share lunch with our parish family. It featured tender pot roast, roast pork loin, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, Greek & Italian style green beans, salad, bread (including Artoklasia) and butter, cheese assortment & crackers, pies, cookies, and Mimosas (21 years and above). All adults and children were invited to attend at no charge. Thanks to all who helped.
The Broadway Diner cake that proved irresistible for a few who couldn't resist cutting it early so they could eat it before lunch was served!
Thank you, Steve & Pamela Theodorakis, for offering this phenomenal birthday cake that Fr. George & Isabelle appreciated receiving. The above image was edited to use as a teaching opportunity regarding the traditional practice of allowing those celebrating their birthday to cut and serve it as a means of honoring their fellow parishioners... all in the joy of the day. It was delicious and truly a cake of "seven delights!"
