On Sunday, February 4th, Fr. George Tsahakis (center), Pastor of St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church in Peachtree City announced this year’s two parish Archangel Michael honorees, Tom Farmakis (left) and Steve Theodorakis (right). They will join nearly 150 honorees from 73 sister parishes of the Greek Orthodox Diocese (Metropolis) of Atlanta on November 10th in Atlanta. The honors banquet will be attended by 600 parishioners from the eight U.S. southeastern states. Tom and Steve were chosen because they exemplify the Orthodox Christian way of life by their deep faith, commitment, dedication and service to the Church and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since 1998, the Diocesan family has come together in Atlanta on the weekend of, prior to, or following the November 8th Feast of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. It is an opportunity to honor and celebrate our Diocesan Patron Saint (Archangel Michael) and the lives of two adults from each parish who are living examples of the Orthodox Christian life and journey to Theosis. This special Metropolis celebration is also the annual Diocesan celebration and thanksgiving for all devout stewards of their faith, time and talents.
